We are pleased to announce that development of the PAL will be supported until 2021 by the BLE by means of federal special funds at the Landwirtschaftliche Rentenbank. The aim is to identify further signals and frequencies, and to extend the application to other species and fisheries. Nomination for the "ocean tribute" Award 2018
The PAL project was nominated for the new „ocean tribute" Award by the "boot" fair in Düsseldorf. The prize in the category "science" will be awarded for the first time during the Blue Motion Night on January 21, 2018.
Prince Albert II of Monaco created the European Marine Award during the "boot" fair of 2017 with the support of the German Ocean Foundation and "boot" Düsseldorf. This „ocean tribute“ Award is dedicated to the most innovative and sustainable concepts in the realm of ocean protection. The winning projects will not only be awarded a prize in a ceremony but will also have the opportunity to represent themselves at the "boot" fair 2019.

Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals
A recent article about PAL, its development, testing phase and effectivity can be found in the Magazine "Tracks" of the Bonn Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS). The magazine was distributed to more than 500 delegates from 120 countries at the COP 12 in Manila (Philippines, October 23 - 28, 2017).

According to Environment and Fisheries Minister Robert Habeck, the voluntary agreement for the protection of harbour porpoises in the Baltic Sea has proven effective ... In April 2017, in addition to the "Voluntary Agreement", a new project was launched to improve the protection of harbour porpoises with the use of PALs in gillnets.
